About Us
Jukumu Lako is a Swahili phrase meaning "Your Responsibility." The initiative was birthed in 2018 from a burden to reach children and teenagers with the love of Christ, meeting both their spiritual and physical needs. What started as a small outreach has now grown into a movement impacting thousands of young people in Kenya and Burundi.
Our foundation is inspired by Isaiah 58:11, Micah 6:8, and James 1:27, calling us to serve the vulnerable, disciple the next generation, and create safe spaces where children can thrive.
Isaiah 58:11
The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail

How Jukumu Lako Started
In 2018, Jukumu Lako began as a small gathering with the vision to introduce children and teenagers to Christ while providing a nurturing environment. Seeing the brokenness and challenges young people faced—poverty, crime, substance abuse, and hopelessness—we knew we had to do something.
Through monthly gatherings, mentorship programs, and outreach, we created spaces where young people could experience love, purpose, and transformation. Today, Jukumu Lako has impacted over 20,000 kids, 5,000 teenagers, and 2,000 families across different communities.
To attract, engage, and transform young lives through faith, mentorship, and holistic care.
To emulate God’s love by providing safe spaces that ensure children thrive.
